National Day of Prayer

Calling TLUSA & AHG members to PRAYER May 7, 2015
To instill love of country and love of Christ exhibited through prayer
To fulfill the desire to serve God, Country, Family, and Others.
Prayer of 2 Chronicles 7:14 for our Nation
And God said:“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves,
and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

We are partnering with this national effort and encouraging our Troops to reach out and volunteer your Troop to help. Trailmen can:
  • pray leaders will be truly blessed, and God is glorified from your service
  • see how you can serve your charter organization
  • write notes of encouragement to local, state, and national officials
  • provide water/snacks/fruit to attendees
  • spread the word about the National Day of Prayer
  • spread the word that TLUSA & AHG are Christ-centered organizations
  • set up and clean up at prayer meetings
  • welcome attendees / thank participates for prayers
  • lead the Pledge of Allegiance and/or lead a flag ceremony as color-guards
  • reach out to other Christian organizations to help them
  • take photos to share with your community
So it’s not so much how you participate, it’s that you do! Your Troop can earn a Flag Ribbon for your Troop flag by doing just two things:
In the days leading up to the event, post your plans on you Facebook page or other forms of social media. In doing so, you’ll inspire other Troops to make their own plans. After your Troop helps on May 7th, post photos of your Trailmen in action.

“It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge
the providence of Almighty God,
to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits,
and humbly to implore His protection and favor.”
- George Washington
Whereas, the Senate of the United States,
devoutly recognizing the Supreme Authority
and just Government of Almighty God,
in all the affairs of men and of nations, has, by a resolution,
requested the President to designate and set apart
a day for National prayer and humiliation…
- Abraham Lincoln

Troops can earn this from serving the National Day of Prayer.
Please share with those you know in Trail Life,
what a great way to introduce your community
to our Christ-centered National Youth Program!
